RAMSTEIN, Germany — The Air Force Junior ROTC (AFJROTC) program at Ramstein High School earned the highest possible rating of “Exceeds Standards” following its Unit Assessment conducted March 3, 2026.

The “Exceeds Standards” rating is awarded to AFJROTC units that demonstrate exceptional performance in leadership, curriculum instruction, community service and cadet development. The designation reflects the dedication, discipline and professionalism displayed by Ramstein High School cadets throughout the program.

During the assessment, cadets participated in a series of evaluations measuring the strength of the unit’s leadership, organization and overall effectiveness. Evaluators also reviewed the program’s impact on student development, including leadership training, citizenship and service to the school and surrounding community.

Under the instructional guidance of Lt. Col. (Ret.) Douglas Haven and Master Sgt. (Ret.) Matthew Atkinson, the program impressed evaluators with its strong cadet leadership, active participation and commitment to service. The instructors emphasized that the program’s success reflects the hard work and dedication of the cadets themselves.

The AFJROTC program at Ramstein High School continues to provide students with opportunities to build leadership skills, confidence and character while preparing them for future success.
