Dr. Leah Zamor

The Department of War Education Activity (DoWEA) announces the appointment of Dr. Leah Zamor as Principal of Ramstein High School. Dr. Zamor brings over two decades of educational experience, a deep understanding of the needs of military-connected students, and a collaborative leadership style to her new role.

Dr. Zamor began her career in education with the Los Angeles Unified School District, where she taught math and science at Northridge Middle School. She holds a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Nevada, Reno; a Master of Science degree from California State University, Northridge; and a Doctorate in Education from the University of Maryland, College Park.

In 2003, Dr. Zamor joined the Department of War Education Activity (DoWEA), serving in a variety of teaching and leadership roles at Seoul American High School and Mannheim High School. Her administrative career began at Mannheim and Kaiserslautern Middle Schools and continued with her appointments as Principal of Baumholder Middle High School and, most recently, Ramstein High School.

Throughout her leadership experience, Dr. Zamor has worked closely with community partners, including the United States Air Force in Europe (USAFE) and the U.S. Army Garrison Rheinland-Pfalz, gaining valuable insight into the Kaiserslautern Military Community (KMC) to support the students and families she serves.

Dr. Zamor focuses on student-centered success through multi-tiered instruction, shared leadership, and a transformative school culture. Guided by a philosophy of educating the whole child, Dr. Zamor champions student agency, innovation, and global readiness. She looks forward to fostering engagement with the Ramstein High School community. 

Dr. Zamor is married to Chris Zamor, a fellow educator at Ramstein Middle School. They have two sons, both of whom attended and graduated from Kaiserslautern High School. In her free time, Dr. Zamor enjoys running, reading, and spending time with family and friends.
